    The Assistant Director of Spiritual Formation creates upperclassmen/commuter specific, and graduate student specific spiritual formation opportunities, as well as additional student Christian leadership development and pastoral care opportunities. The start date for the Assistant Director is July 1, 2021.  Application review will begin March 1, 2021

    • Create and provide class‐specific spiritual formation programming primarily for upper-class and graduate students.
    • Serve as the UM liaison to, and oversee the ongoing work of, all graduate Faith Development Organizations (e.g. Pharmacy Christian Fellowship; Christian Legal Society; Occupational Therapy Christian Fellowship; Physical Therapy Christian Fellowship, InterVarsity Graduate Fellowship).
    • Oversee Graduate Mentoring Program, connecting graduate students with Christian professionals in their respective fields.
    • Oversee service/outreach opportunities for graduate students.
    • Oversee spiritual formation events for graduate students (e.g. worship nights and WellCore events)
    • Works with Belmont graduate colleges and departments to create and execute spiritually forming activities specific to their areas (e.g. Spirituality and Healthcare; Your Faith and the Music Industry).
    • Create and administrate Christian leadership opportunities for students in partnership with the BOLD Office.
    • Create new-and expand on current-community, church and para‐church partnerships.
    • Create and deepen engagement opportunities for students with local Christian organizations though internships and mentoring experiences.
    • Co‐lead UM sponsored events as needed including, but not limited to: Spiritual Emphasis weeks, UM leadership retreats, Outreach experiences, and on campus worship experiences.
    • Provide individual pastoral care and spiritual direction.
    • Partner with colleges and departments across campus to determine further engagement in spiritually forming activities specific to their areas.
    • Serve on various campus wide committees as appropriate. Positively and appropriately represent Belmont at denominational and ministerial activities.
    • Oversee the Service Year program, a residential based-service oriented, living/learning Christian community.
    • Support the faith formation of faculty and staff as appropriate.

    Required Education

    Bachelor’s Degree from accredited four-year college or university required. Master’s Degree preferred.

     

     

    Required Experience

    Minimum two years experience in campus ministry, or related field.
