For those of you arriving in Washington, DC early, will have the opportunity to sign up for a variety of pre- and post-conference excursions Excursions currently in the works include the following: 


1) Sunday, February 2nd, 2:00pm: National Museum of African American History and Culture (Free)

Spend some time in this incredible Smithsonian Museum. "The National Museum of African American History and Culture has accomplished what once seemed like an impossible dream: opening a museum dedicated to a people's journey and our nation's complete, unvarnished truth."


2) Sunday, February 2nd, 2:00pm: 6th & I Synagogue

Come visit this innovative synagogue in the heart of DC! "Sixth & I is a center for arts, entertainment, ideas, and Jewish life in Washington, DC. We inspire more meaningful and fulfilling lives through an unexpected mix of experiences that embrace the multi-faceted identities of those we serve."


3) Sunday, February 2nd, 2:00pm: The Islamic Center of DC

Explore this vibrant Islamic Center along Embassy Row! "The Islamic Center (المركز الاسلامى)  was officially opened in June of 1952. From its inception, it had set its goals of promoting a better understanding of Islam in the United States. It is an institution that stands ready to help anyone who may reveal a desire to embrace Islam and serves as a source of guidance for Muslims." 


4) Tuesday, February 4th, 3:00pm: O Museum in the Mansion ($30)

Looking for something quirky and fun to do near the hotel in Dupont Circle? Come check Secret Door Tour out the O Museum in The Mansion,  "Embark on an exciting self-guided adventure through secret doors and hidden passages. Walk in the footsteps of presidents and freedom fighters. No maps or hints — just your sleuthing skills! Your purchases support our arts and social justice programs. Join the fun!"


5) Tuesday, February 4th, 3:00pm: Washington National Cathedral ($20)

Come explore this architectural marvel. "Explore some of the most beloved Cathedral features with an expert guide or at your own pace! Tour the main level where you can see the world-famous Space Window, Canterbury Pulpit, and more, plus lower level chapels and exhibits when available. The Cathedral is a house of prayer for all people; there is never a charge for worship services or private prayer."


*Please note that the prices above do not include transportation. Groups will travel via DC Metro (Subway) and each ride is approximately $5 ($10 round trip). Guides and meeting locations will be communicated with participants who sign up.
