    Director of Faith Formation & Engagement at Belmont University

    The Director of Faith Formation & Engagement is part of the University Ministries pastoral team and is responsible for leading Christ-centered formation and discipleship opportunities for undergraduate students as well as overall campus engagement for University Ministries programming. Responsibilities also include general tasks that contribute to the ministerial care for Belmont students, faculty, and staff. 

    Job Duties:
    •       Develop and oversee faith formation events and experiences for undergraduate students.
    •       Develop and oversee small groups for students: including Bible studies, Connect Groups, and student-led Residence Hall discipleship programs.
    •       Develop and oversee strategies to engage the Belmont community in the faith formation programs, events, and opportunities provided by University Ministries.
    •       Manage University Ministries communications, including social media, email newsletters, and in-house tools (BruinLink, myBelmont, etc).
    •       Develop and oversee a team of student leaders who participate in the work of faith formation and engagement.
    •       Contribute to the overall ministry of the UM Office by:
    o       Playing a contributing role in Chapel, student leader training, Minister-on-Call, etc.
    o       Providing pastoral care and other pastoral support as needed.
    o       Representing University Ministries at campus-wide and external events as needed.
    o       Serving as a Title IX confidential resource.

    Education: Bachelor’s Degree from accredited four-year college or university required. Masters degree preferred. Degree(s) in a ministerial or theological field preferred.

    Experience: 2-3 years experience in formal ministry with young adults that includes providing significant spiritual formation and discipleship programming. Higher Education experience preferred.

    •       Be a balanced, growing, committed Christian and an active member of a church.
    •       Experience working in a fast-paced environment and the ability to respond to high-pressure situations.
    •       Ability to thrive in an environment of hard work.
    •       Must be self-motivated, and exhibit a mature and responsible work ethic.
    •       Possess excellent administrative and interpersonal skills.
    •       Ability to work in a ministry team setting.
    •       Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with good presentation skills.
    •       Ability to forge positive relationships with students, local ministries, churches, pastors, and community leaders while balancing the administrative tasks of the position.
    •       Ability to work irregular hours, specifically evening and weekends, as well as be available to travel out of town for extended periods of time.
    •       Must be committed to students' spiritual development.
    •       Knowledge of regulations regarding student privacy.
    •       Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite software applications.
