Assistant Muslim Chaplain

Reporting to the University Chaplain and working closely with the Director of Muslim Life/Muslim Chaplain, the Assistant Muslim Chaplain works with members of Yale’s diverse Muslim community and actively supports the Chaplain’s Office Muslim Life program. The Assistant Muslim Chaplain provides pastoral care and support to the Muslim community, particularly in women’s spaces. They develop and provide programmatic support for the Muslim community on campus – organizing events, retreats, talks, conferences, iftars, Eid celebrations, etc. Under the leadership of the Director of Muslim Life/Muslim Chaplain, the Assistant Muslim Chaplain helps set the strategic direction for support of the campus Muslim community and may be called on to offer guidance and advise on issues of interest to that community. In addition, they provide leadership advisory support to Muslim student organizations including the Muslim Student Association, the Yale Black Muslim Student Association, the Grad Muslim Student Association, and other developing student groups. The Assistant Muslim Chaplain works closely and collaboratively with entire Chaplain’s Office to support the religious and spiritual needs of the campus community.
